Title:
Innovative Membrane Solutions for the Automotive Industry
Description:
Attendees can expect to learn what membrane solutions are, how they work and how innovation in the membrane filtration industry can be applied to cost-effectively meet end user needs in electrocoat, pretreatment, water and wastewater treatment.
Abstract:
The use of membrane technology has become a standard practice in the automotive industry. Ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, reverse osmosis, and electrodialysis membranes, arranged in various configurations are used for water treatment, wastewater treatment and reuse, electrocoat bath pH management, paint recovery, and rinse-water treatment and reuse. Membrane type and configuration are carefully chosen for different applications to provide an optimal solution for every process challenge.
Recent innovations in the membrane filtration industry bring to the automotive industry new membrane products that help end users gain significant reduction of operational costs in terms of paint and chemical spending, as well as overall reductions in footprint, deionized water consumption, energy requirements, and effluent volumes. On the water and wastewater side, innovative membrane technology offers versatile, high quality and cost-effective solutions addressing process water needs and opportunities for wastewater reuse.
